Drippy Cloud$ Interview: How He Was Able To Land Features With AyooKD, Kyyngg and More…
So for starters… Tell me a little about yourself. Just a quick introduction into who you are and where you are from for people that may be just coming across your music or your page.
“My Name Is Drippy Cloud$. I’m From Pennsylvania, my new tape just released called ‘Nocturnal’ on all platforms featuring Mikey Polo. My previous tape was called ‘Sauce God Drip’ featuring Kyyngg, AyooKD, Newage Jerkboy. I’m an independent artist, Fat Joe also gave me a shoutout. I do melodic rock rap and I sing”
I can definitely see the rock influences in your music. Are there any specific artists or songs in the Rock genre that give you that Rock influence in your music?
“Freddy Mercury, Axl Rose, and my fav rap artist is Young Thug”
Okay. So, going a little deeper into your influences… Have you always been interested in music? Was there a particular song/performance that made you say “I want to do that!”?
“I use music as a release, hearing people’s stories that are relatable to mine and it gives me peace, so I try to do it for others. I try to let people know there not alone in life and there’s people going through the same things so they feel comfort.”
I feel you on that. I use music to release my emotions and thoughts as well. It’s not exactly easy for me to express my emotions into words, so I use music as a way to vent.
I want to talk about your previous tape Sauce God, and then we will get into Nocturnal. But, what was it like working AyooKD and Kyyngg? Those are pretty big fan bases that you have tapped into. Can you give some networking tips on how you made that happen?
“Sauce God Drip mixtape it was a one time thing. I messaged them and they answered for some reason, once they did, I was lucky to have direct links for them to click and hear immediately without taking much time. Once you conversate with big artist or people, you gotta have everything you need in a click of a button. It was a great experience. I just never met them in person. My tip is to be consistent. Have lots of material.”
Those are great tips! Did you apply that same method of networking for your newest project Nocturnal with Mikey Polo? What area do you think you improved in the most from Sauce God to Nocturnal? How did you grow as an artist between those projects?
“Yes, that is correct, as well I think I improved on my sound. I knew how I wanted to sound. I knew what I wanted to say, it’s just a more solid professional mixtape then the previous tape.
I grew more by understanding myself, doing that it came more natural. I knew the message I wanted to send my fans and I knew the sound I wanted to have.”
